Michigan’s quarterbacking competition has ended.

Erik Magnuson, a 6-foot-5, 305-pound offensive tackle broke the news on Instagram that he will indeed be the starting quarterback for the Wolverines this season.

Awesome, we can all go about our business now.

Michigan’s quarterback competition has been the subject of tense speculation for months as Wilton Speight, John O’Korn and Shane Morris have been duking it out to be the player under center on Sept. 3 against Hawaii.

So, Magnuson thought he’d have a little fun and put an end to all the speculation.

This kind of reminds me of Sebastian Tretola, the 350-pound Arkansas lineman who threw a touchdown pass and then started a Heisman campaign.

Magnuson is the team’s starter at right tackle, where he has 24 career starts and was Third-Team All-Big Ten a year ago.
